The Buckeyes are now 10-0 after beating Illinois last weekend. I didn’t see it as I was out shopping for a new dining room table. This weekend is Northwestern, then that university up north (who’s name I just don’t say in polite company) comes down to Columbus for the final game.

“The Trouble with Tribbles” was the latest remastered Star Trek episode to air. I’m really getting used to the new CGI effects after watching the old versions on DVD. The planets do look a lot better, as do the perspectives from which the ships are filmed (well, they really aren’t “filmed”, but what’s the right word?). If they could somehow make the ships look less CGI-ed, they’ed really have it nailed.

I had a strange dream Saturday night that brings to mind the question “What if?”. I’m writing this down just so I can think it though, so no comments are necessary. It was one of those dreams that involves people from different times of my life that in no way could have known each other or been in the same place in real life. Do you have dreams like these? I have them more often than others. What made this one stand out is that it involved a particular girl that I knew in college. No, not involved like you’re thinking (I wish it did!). In fact, I can’t even remember how she was involved in the dream.

Anyway, when I was in college, we started off in the same class (along the way I switched to the 5-year plan). I knew who she was, and to me, she was absolutely beautiful, had a great personality (very down to earth), was in the top few of the class, and came from a very well-to-do family. (My best friend thought she talked way too much and was just another brainiac to be avoided as they ruined the grading curve for average folks like us.) I admired her from a few rows back in the various classes we took together. I assumed all along that she had no idea who I was. As time went by, we got to be on a first-name basis, but no further as we had different circles of friends. Luckily by her senior year, I was fortunate to spend some time with her at a couple of events where we weren’t with our usual circles of friends. Me, being the shy, low self-esteemed geek, didn’t try to take things any further than just spending those few days hanging out together. At the time I figured that since she would be graduating a year ahead of me and near the top of the class, that she’d not be interested in me. I wish someone would have smacked me up side the head and yelled “Get a clue!!!” (Ironically, my friend that couldn’t stand the brainiacs in the class ahead of us went on to date and marry another one of them. I guess all of my preaching to him that there was no reason to dislike them actually sunk in, lol.)

I lost touch with her after she graduated, and then I moved to another state after my graduation. By chance a couple of years later I went back to the city where I went to school with some friends, and I ran into her at a “First Friday” art gallery crawl that I hadn’t even planned on attending. We talked a bit, and, again, me being a dork, didn’t follow through. She was in law school. Again, I wish someone would have smacked me up side the head and yelled “Get a clue!!!” Long story short, I Googled her and found that she’s married and a very successful lawyer.

So I was thinking yesterday “What if…I had perused her? Where would I be now? What would life be like?” Tough to say. That assumes that she had the same feelings for me back then. Perhaps she did. Perhaps she didn’t. Perhaps she just thought of me as an acquaintance. Perhaps. But then I wouldn’t be where I am now. I would not be blessed with the friends and family I have here. I would not be enjoying the things in life that I now do. I would not be the me that I am. Or perhaps…

Hey, happy belated birthday, fellow scorpio! What day was it? Mine was the 29th. Nice blog you have here. I sometimes wonder "what if" too, but you really can't tell. Maybe what you chose really was the best choice.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I saw your comments on Fetishexplorer's blog (another internet perv). You always seem to have something wise and kind to say to him, which is really nice and it made me curious to read your blog. I don't think i'm completely Dom material when it comes to Fetishexplorer. He's too young and sweet. I feel a strange mix of attracted and protective, which makes it awfully hard to be mean to him. So this blog of yours, does the humiliation fetish come into play at all? When you write about sex, do you get a certain thrill out of people reading it? I kind of do, but i have to keep it fairly tame on my own blog because my kids might read it.

anne, thank you for your comments. When I first started the blog I thought I'd get a lot of responses that might be considered humiliating. I soon realized that my words & actions are no more bizzare than everyone else. ("Regular" people just don't talk about their kinks in real life.)

I don't write to specifically provoke a response, but I'm always interested in how people react, or don't react, to what I write. I write what I feel and see what happens.

There was one draft of a fictional story about humiliation and crossdressing that I almost posted a few months ago, but I didn't - I thought it was too "out there", and I just couldn't write a decent ending (the bane of all writers). Perhapse I'll give it more thought.

Happy Belated Birthday!
I hope everything went smashingly well!

And this post...

Oh dear.
I live those 'what if moments' all the time, and it kills me!

I know that i should'nt, but it's so hard when you see your life slipping away, getting caught along the way, and the other person who 'could have been' in your life (the what if...) is doing well - that bites big time,.

I ran into an old flame the other day on the buss. We were supposed to spend the bringing in of 1999 together. We had a 20 year rocky nasty passionate history before that. well, New year's day came and I spent it alone. The bottle of champagain I bought was flung across my back yard against a telephone pole.

That was the end of my "what if's' with him.

And then I ran into him after 10 more years.

I almost didn't recognize him, and was actually going to say hello, but as he got off, and with that arrogant swagger in his step, the doors closed and I sighed a sigh of releif.

That "what if" was a good 'maybe not' wake up call.

Sometimes, it's good to say "oh well" to those what if's....

oxox
:-))

If I had a dime for every missed opportunity! Don't beat yourself up, we all do those things, some (me) more than others.

Forgot to tape Trek last night again, it plays at 12 to 1 AM here, so I always forget it's on.

People's motivations for their sexuality are sooo interesting. I could name several very different reasons people might have for cross-dressing. Some have nothing to do with humiliation. You know what i mean. If i tell someone something very personal about my sexuality, i feel a sort of risk-thrill when i say it, but i am actually hoping for them to accept me. That's a big relief and feels great to me. You on the other hand might sometimes hope for a different reaction. We like similar things for different reasons. That fascinates me! Like I told Fetishexplorer, i don't find a man in women's lingerie necessarily humiliating, just kinky-hot. Yum. ;)
I would love to read your story if you feel like sharing it. I wrote a story once about a woman raping a man, specially for a male friend of mine who had that fantasy. Unfortunately i think i deleted it from my hard drive. I'll have to check the backup disks, won't i? It was pretty humiliating... in a good way.
