So after reading that last post, one may be wondering what happened later. I was up until about 4AM doing some fun things. In Heaven there is no beer...

...that's why I drank it all day long on Saturday. We went to the Philly Craft Beer Festival at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. And what a beer-soaked afternoon it was. We arrived an hour late, and that was to our advantage. When the event opened, the line to get in was about 1/4-mile long. When we arrived we waited about 5 minutes to get in. The event organizers said they capped tickets at 1500 for each of the afternoon and evening sessions, and it looked more crowded than that though. There were so many brewers (~50) with at least 2 selections each, so there was no way to sample all of them. One didn't have to wait to get a sample, although moving from table to table was tough. There was some amazing beer there: Rogue's Chocolate Stout, Magic Hat's Vanilla Porter, and a Rock Art that I can't remember.

There were three things that stood out for me there:
1. The people. I'm a people watcher and this was a great place for it. Sure, there were you stereo-typical beer geeks there - guys that look like they just woke up and put on the clothes that were on the floor from yesterday. But there were a lot more women than I assumed, maybe even more women than men. And the majority of them were very good looking (and that was before the beer goggles went on).
